Classic Movie Recommendation

Last night, I watched one of my favorite musicals, Gypsy. The movie was based on a Broadway hit, which was adapted from the book, Gypsy: A memoir by Gypsy Rose Lee. It's about an aggressive stage mom, Rose, her two girls, June and Rose Louise. Rose's dream is for her children to become vaudeville stars and she does whatever it takes for the dream to become a reality. Once the talented Baby June leaves the family to break into Broadway and escape Mama, Mama focuses in on the less talented Louise. Through misunderstandings, comical, and sad situations, Louise becomes know as the vivacious infamous burlesque dancer, Gypsy Rose Lee.

The soundtrack and costumes are amazing. I love the sparkle, glamour, and lady-like elements of the costumes. My favorite dress will always be the bright white sparkly burlesque costume paired the white gloves and gorgeous high heels.

Jason Wu for Target

First we had Versace for H&M and now we'll have Jason Wu for Target and I'm super thrilled!! On February 5, 2012, Jason Wu's Target collection will be revealed and on the shelves. The collection will feature women's apparel, scarves, and handbags with prices ranging from $20 - $60. I wonder if Target will have another website crash when Wu's pieces become available for online purchases or will the crowds go crazy trying to grab the pieces off the shelves. Only time will tell. Will I be one of those crazy ladies, maybe :)

$40 navy mini dress. $50 canvas purse. Printed collared dress and printed handbag both $40.

NYC shopping list completed

I completed my NYC trip shopping list! I bought a warm winter coat, a cute purse, fab knee high black boots, and adorable black flats! I am so ready for NYC and the winter season!

1. Cabela's Verona dry-plus systems parka 2. Target Xhilaration sequin satchel w/ bow 3. Target Merona magaska riding boots 4. Target Mossimo Supple Co. Ona ballet flats

The coat is in my favorite color and it sure does keep me warm! There are hidden pockets inside and out and a removable layer for those unseasonably warm days. And did I mention it was on SALE?! Yep, definitely an important factor. Although it did not meet all of my requirements like being vintage inspired it did meet the rest.

The purse is so cute and girly! I love the feminine bow and pink and silver sequins. It is big enough to carry my everyday things. And again, it was on sale :)

The boots are so comfy and gives me a little height. I love the simple black color and two belts. It also fits perfectly around my calves, which was a constant problem.

I am obsessed with ballet flats, I wear them all the time. Sadly, my older black pair were getting worn down and falling apart but now I got a new cute and SHINY pair.

Pantone Color of 2012

The color of 2012 is Pantone's Tangerine Tango. It's described as a sensual, sophisicated, and bold with depth and suble hints of warm red. Many fashion designers like Tommy Hilfiger, Elie Taheri, Adrienne Vittadini, and Nanette Lepore, included the vibratious color in their Spring collections. In March 2012, Sephora + Pantone Universe is launching the first ever Color of the Year beauty collection featuring Tangerine Tango. The 'it' color works great with all color eyes. For all of the blue and green eyed beauties, the color is a completementry opposite and for all the brown eyed beauties, it will help bring out an amber cast. I really really like this color, it just says fun, sexy, and has an optimistic hue. I can see this color making waves in all seasons.

Are you bold enough to wear Tangerine Tango?

 1. J Crew Cashmere tee dress 2. ModCloth Minneapolis marvel coat 3. ModCloth Sunset seeker dress 4. Modcloth Vintage boheme skirt

1. Kenneth Jay Lane orange resin ring 2. Eyebobs Catcher in the eye reading glasses 3. Givenchy fruity orange lipstick 4. Etsy Tangerine tango rose ring

1. Target Cashmere cable gloves 2. Target Cashmere cashmere cable scarves 3. Target Orange croco clutch 4. Rigid City Messenger bag

1. M.A.C Rule eyeshadow 2. Cargo Rome blush 3. Stila Outragous lip color 4. Becca Tangerine Dream nail polish

How to rock bright colored denim

Over the past couple of months I've noticed a definite trend of  brightly colored jeans. Stars in Hollywood are all over them and retailers are getting in the action, like Target, Urban Outfitters, JcPenny, and Forever 21. I'm obsessing over bright red jeans and looking tirelessly for one that fits me in all of the right places. When I do find that magical pair, you'll be the first to know!

How to rock bright colored jeans
  • Tops: Pair with simple white, gray, black top or a white/neutral soft feminine blouse
  • Jackets: short cropped leather jackets or oversized tailored blazers work well.
  • Shoes: ankle boots, black leather or neutral high heel, converse, or simple flats
  • Accessories: short chunky or long thin necklace in silver or gold. Purses should be neutral or black, can be either big and bold or small and simple.

Do you own any of brightly colored jeans? Do you rock them often? Let me know in the comment section below.
