Top 10 Holiday Movies

Watching holiday movies is one of my favorite traditions, right before loudly singing Christmas songs and baking cookies. They that really get me in the Christmas mood and I can't wait for their appearance on TV. I've narrowed down my top 10 holiday mocies so take a peek at the list and let me know what you think. Christian Louboutin's Cinderalla Slipper

If you recall, in April 2012, an announcement was made that Louboutin and Disney were collaborating on a real life Cinderella inspired heel. Well, good news: the first photo of the design has finally arrived! The shoe was revealed on July 4th in Paris. The special heel is covered in crystals and features butterfly accents. Because a shoe made out of glass would be beyond painful, he used white lace and Swarovski crystals to embody glass' lightness. Although I adore the crystals, why the butterflies? I don't recall butterflies being a part of the classic Cinderella story. Honestly, when I see butterfly accessories and accents I think of Mariah Carey (what 90's child doesn't?).

Lindsay Lohan As Elizabeth Taylor

Lindsay Lohan will be staring in Lifetime's original movie, Liz and Dick, along with Grant Bowler. The movie is about Elizabeth Taylor's romantic relationship with Richard Burton. When I first read about the casting of the movie I was honestly shocked! I could perhaps see Lohan playing Marilyn Monroe (her idol) but not Taylor. There were rumors that Megan Fox was also a possible option. However, after seeing some of the still shots of the movie, I could be wrong. According to People magazine, the movie's costume director, Salvatore Perez, said when Lindsay came on set in costume for the first time, "There was an audible gasp. You’d swear it was Elizabeth".

Although Lohan is mostly known for her stints in the tabloids, she is a pretty good actress and I'm very curious to see how the movie plays out. As an admirer of Elizabeth Taylor I do hope that Lohan does the role with justice and dignity.

Christian Louboutin's Cinderella Glass Slipper

My inner Disney princess is super excited right now. This fall, Walt Disney will be re-releasing its classic Cinderella on DVD and Blu-ray. In celebration of the re-release, Christian Louboutin will be designing his interpretation of the infamous glass slipper with the reveal in June 2012. Louboutin told WWD, "I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world".


The slipper will most likely have a much higher heel than Cinderella's. Louboutin will make every woman's childhood princess dreams come true. If I had a fairy godmother I would wish for the glamorous elegant Louboutin glass slipper, the ability for my feet not to feel pain, and those cute little dancing mice. I'm certainly looking forward to June, are you?

Classic Movie Recommendation

Last night, I watched one of my favorite musicals, Gypsy. The movie was based on a Broadway hit, which was adapted from the book, Gypsy: A memoir by Gypsy Rose Lee. It's about an aggressive stage mom, Rose, her two girls, June and Rose Louise. Rose's dream is for her children to become vaudeville stars and she does whatever it takes for the dream to become a reality. Once the talented Baby June leaves the family to break into Broadway and escape Mama, Mama focuses in on the less talented Louise. Through misunderstandings, comical, and sad situations, Louise becomes know as the vivacious infamous burlesque dancer, Gypsy Rose Lee.

The soundtrack and costumes are amazing. I love the sparkle, glamour, and lady-like elements of the costumes. My favorite dress will always be the bright white sparkly burlesque costume paired the white gloves and gorgeous high heels.

Classic Holiday Movies

Nothing helps me more get into the holiday spirit like watching old Christmas movies. I live for the evenings when I get to grab my snowman cup filled with eggnog, grab a couple or 20 (don't judge me!) warm gooey chocolate chip cookies, and being snuggled on the couch with Johnny or Jellybelly (both are great cuddlers). I've created a list of what I believe to be the ultimate get-you-in-the-spirit-movies with the classics and the favorite recents.
