Kate Young X Target

Target is rolling out another fabulous designer collaboration and this time it is with hot celeb stylist Kate Young. Young has worked with clients like Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz. In 2012, she was named Hollywood's most powerful stylist by The Hollywood Reporter. Now with her debut line, you can dress like a star without breaking the bank. The limited edition collection, available starting April 14th, features a mix of daytime-cool and upscale occasion classy outfits ($29.99 to $89.99), as well as edgy and elegant shoes, handbags, and accessories ($14.99 to $49.99). It is easy to see her personal style of personal tough-luxe shine through each of her pieces.

What she has to say about her collaboration, "I've been working with Target for a number of years as a stylist, so having the chance to design my own collection with a brand I already know and love is like a dream come true,” said Kate Young. “With this collection, I wanted to design standout pieces that allow women to experiment with fashion and create their own red carpet moments.”.

Spring Inspiration

Spring has offically hit Virginia and I'm (do do do do do) loving it. I've worn only dresses these past few days and it feels so good to be back in them. What can I say, I'm a dress girl. The fabulous weather and change in wardrobe has inspired me to make a little My Style + Spring collage to express my inspiration.

Purse Of The Moment

I was flipping through my March Glamour magazine and I saw a beautiful print ad for Michael Kors' Large Hamilton Pyramid-Stud Saffiano Tote. It's drop dead gorgeous but too much for my budget (over $400!) . The handbag in made of Citrus saffiano leather, has stunning golden pyramid studs on the front, and a cute strapped top with logo-engraved lock detail. The handbag also comes in different colors like optic white, navy, and zinnia pink. A girl can dream, right?

Other pieces of the line. Cute, right?

Clutch Of The Moment

I'm a huge fan of bows. I love bow rings, earrings, belts, shoes, patterns, hair accessories, and purses. The clutch of the moment that I'm drooling over is the Rebecca Minkoff leather eyelet mini sweetie bag with a studded bow detail. LOVE! I first saw it over at VIVALUXURY's outfit post. It's so dreamy, edgy, and so oh lovely, right? What isn't so grand is the price tag, $325, ouch! I went on a mini search to find a similar bag but with faux leather and a kinder price.

The options above are similar either through the color or the studs. My favorite look alike is the Tasha clutch with the crystals. If you prefer studs, try buying a simple black clutch like the Metal Mulisha and add some on there. It's real easy and you get to control the design and quantity of studs.

What bag are you eyeing lately?

Autumn's Fashion Trends

Autumn is just around the corner but don't be frighten! Just because it's a new season, don't think you have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, we wish though! I've done my hard thorough research (poor me) and have collected the best and newest fall trends. I also mentioned a couple of classics like plaid and crushed velvet, who doesn't love a good oldie anyways?

The colors of Fall 2012 are: red, oxblood (aka dark maroon), purple, tangerine tango, pale gray, cream, and white. Pantone also has out their list of seasonal color trends. Have a look!

A couple of trends from the spring and summer have made its way over to Fall with only slight color adjustment. Color blocking and wild prints are still here to stay (yay!). The colors are still fresh and bright but dialed down (notice no neon but more rustic and jeweled tones).

The wild prints will be around for a long time and this fall they've gone all Pleasantville on us and jumped into black and white!  But don't worry, the fun printed pants and leggings also appear in color for those who just can't part.

The LBD went through it's own transformation. Now flared with a full skirt and a nipped waist, it  brings on the joyful '50s feel and shows off the woman's figure.

LBD's other transformation is of color! With the IT color being oxblood it makes sense to switch things up. Now introducing the LRD, do you like?

The old rule of no white after Labor Day is old for a reason, this year wear white proud! White on white was huge on the Autumn 2012 runways so give it a try! However, if sporting pure white after Labor Day gives you the heebie-jeebies, no problem, cream is here to save the day! Think of cream as the autumn-fied version of white.

Soft pale grey is a wonderful color for fall because it pairs up nicely with red, purple, rustic orange, and the infamous plaid designs. It's a soft palate for the touches of rich and bold color.

Collars are the IT accessory this fall. They are an amazing addition to any top or dress. You can purchase a top or dress with a built in collar or just buy the collar to give your older pieces a fresh new look. They can be worn like a necklace which is easy peasy. Bejeweled collars give any outfit an extra level of glam while printed collars create an edgy and fun look.

Handbags are an essential part to every outfit, they can break or make the look so it's important to not ignore your trusty purse. Look for a purse that's simple but bold in color. Pick a shade from the colors of Fall 2012, like oxblood, royal purple, or pale gray. To add an extra dose of awesome-ness, try tying a scarf around the bag's handle.

I can't finish the fall 2012's trends post without mentioning the classics. These three trends have become symbols for autumn: plaid, crushed velvet in dark jeweled tones, and knee high boots. You can't go wrong with a classic.

What To Wear - Summer In The Office

Summer is sooo close I can smell it. Sadly for many of us we don't get three months off to frolick in the sun (one of the BEST things about being a student!). For us office drones we still must punch the clock and endure either the really hot and stuffy or the freezing AC-is-on-too-high work space. I want to share with you what I recommed as stylish, trendy, and comfortable summer work appropriate outfits.

As a reminder Summer 2012's trends include: neon, pastel, florals, peplum, and bold jewerly

Here are outfits from ASOS Fashion Finder that I thought were just perfect for summertime working gals.
