I was wasting time on Pinterest the other night and came across Elle Magazine's pins for Elie Saab's Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2013 and I'm OBSESSED!! The sparkles, the glam, and vintage style gets me, gets me to my core. Ahhh, if only I had the money and was a princess, I would were these gowns every single fucking day! You hear me? Every day!

Perfume Of The Moment

This month's perfume of the moment is Gucci Premiere, inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour. Its sophisticated woody musky fragerence signals an invitation to embrace own's own red carpet moments.

Here's the best description of the scent I found, written by Sephora, "The fragrance opens with the luxury and exuberance of a vintage champagne. There are many raves about the fragrance but there a few critics. The most common complaint is that the scent doesn't hold for a long period of time. Either way, the next time I'm at a department store, I'll be stopping by the fragrance counter and testing it out!

Autumn's Beauty & Hair Trends

On Wednesday all the fabulous fashion trends were covered and now it's time for beauty and hair! The classic shades of berry, deep red, royal purple, and gold are in but now we've also been introduced to soft pink. The 1960's and '70s have a strong hold over this season's hair and the eye's have gone geometric crazy.

BEAUTY

Red Lipstick 

Red lipstick is an universal beauty classic and does wonders for women. Red lips are a fashion statement of their own. They tell the world that you're confident, bold, daring, and deserve attention, rightfully so. There are 3 types of red lipsticks: 1) classic red  2) bright and glossy and 3) deep and vampy. The classic matte red lipstick will never go out of style and looks impeccable on every skin tone. It's perfect for a night out on the town or that day when you feel unstoppable. A tip when wearing classic matte: the less formal the outfit, the better the contrast. Bright and glossy red lipstick is perfect for the day look. A tip when wearing bright and glossy: keep the rest of the face natural and minimum. If you want a more bold look, try a strong brow. The dark and vampy lipstick was seen multiple times on the runway and can be easily worn off the runway. A tip when wearing the deep and dark: blot the middle of lips with a little bit of a lighter pink shade to avoid the Gothic look (unless that's what you're going for)

Soft Pink Flush

Here is where soft pink is introduced to us and it is to be applied to the checks as blush. The look can be described as the color you get after being outside in the crisp cool weather for a bit too long. That natural flush and color is what is being replicated through blush.

Geometric Eyeliner

This fall we're having more fun with design and color. Instead of just swiping a line on the top and bottom lid and calling it a day, we're creating little patterns and adding more color. Although I doubt us non-models will draw lines, dots, and swipe shades of color around our eyes for everyday makeup, we can still get creative and have fun. Switching out black or brown with color, like purple or aqua and playing around with the ends of the cat eye design (model #4).

This summer was all about color and we aren't abandoning the immersion completely.  While the french manicure is always a smart choice, why not mix things up? Instead of the average white tip, try color. It's a grown up nail art that can be worn through multi color design or unique shape tip design (like the red scallop pattern). 

HAIR

Old Hollywood Glamour - Side Swept Waves

Old Hollywood glam is always coming back and for a good reason too! It's timeless and elegant appeal brings out the best of women and reminds us of the golden girls years. The up and coming singer and model Lana Del Rey has helped bring back the side swept waves into the spotlight and onto our style conscious. Two complementary makeup options: 1) Nude lips, sexy smokey eye, and a light pink flush of the cheeks OR 2) Red lips, minimal eye (focus on eyeliner than shadow), and a natural cheek. Braids

There are dozens of braid styles and all are embraced. Braids have made their way not just on the red carpet but on the runway. No longer reserved for the Bohemians or girl scouts anymore, it's another style option for women and now it's a fun trend. You can go all out with a fishtail or keep it low key with one braid loosely hanging off to the side. 

Blunt Bangs

Once used as an escape for those embarrassed about their tall foreheads or over plucked brows, now desired by many. The blunt bang is a hair symbol for fall, it's the dramatic style that's often seen on college campuses. The cut works admirably with thin and thick hair but not with all foreheads. It can cause the short foreheads to have a shorter, cut-off, and round face so please honest with yourself and what works best for you before you run for the shears. 

Center Part & Squeaky Clean 

 Here we have the 70's making its way back into our lives. The center parted, straight hair that looks slick and squeaky clean is another option. The secret to get that luster gloss to your hair: Keep on top of the awful split ends and use shampoo and conditioner that offers moisture and shine protection. While your hair is damp, rub an ice cube over the strands and then apply shine serum. Then use a hair straighter or blow dryer with a large round brush. 

Retro Voluminous Bouffants

The opposite of the 70's influence is the '60s big and beautiful bouffants. The retro style brings into focus voluminous hair along with the needed hair dryer, teaser comb, and hairspray (suggestion: listen to the soundtrack of Hairspray while getting your bouffant ready, it'll be fun!). Lana Del Rey has also been seen sporting the retro sex kitten hair when not in glam waves. She and the remarkable designers of Fall '12 prove that bouffants are for the modern day and not the girls in your dad's old yearbook.

Jeweled Accessories

This fall we are making a statement and it's with our hair accessories. Statement hair pieces are becoming more informal and have been upgraded from only weddings and formal events to everyday wear. Hair pins, ties, hairbands, and ribbons with a brooch are pieces in which we can add a little glitz and sparkle. These pieces ease seamlessly into our adult world and you won't feel silly, promise! Tip: Keep it simple, easy enough right?

Autumn's Fashion Trends

Autumn is just around the corner but don't be frighten! Just because it's a new season, don't think you have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, we wish though! I've done my hard thorough research (poor me) and have collected the best and newest fall trends. I also mentioned a couple of classics like plaid and crushed velvet, who doesn't love a good oldie anyways?

The colors of Fall 2012 are: red, oxblood (aka dark maroon), purple, tangerine tango, pale gray, cream, and white. Pantone also has out their list of seasonal color trends. Have a look!

 

A couple of trends from the spring and summer have made its way over to Fall with only slight color adjustment. Color blocking and wild prints are still here to stay (yay!). The colors are still fresh and bright but dialed down (notice no neon but more rustic and jeweled tones).

The wild prints will be around for a long time and this fall they've gone all Pleasantville on us and jumped into black and white!  But don't worry, the fun printed pants and leggings also appear in color for those who just can't part.

The LBD went through it's own transformation. Now flared with a full skirt and a nipped waist, it  brings on the joyful '50s feel and shows off the woman's figure.

LBD's other transformation is of color! With the IT color being oxblood it makes sense to switch things up. Now introducing the LRD, do you like?

The old rule of no white after Labor Day is old for a reason, this year wear white proud! White on white was huge on the Autumn 2012 runways so give it a try! However, if sporting pure white after Labor Day gives you the heebie-jeebies, no problem, cream is here to save the day! Think of cream as the autumn-fied version of white.

Soft pale grey is a wonderful color for fall because it pairs up nicely with red, purple, rustic orange, and the infamous plaid designs. It's a soft palate for the touches of rich and bold color.

Collars are the IT accessory this fall. They are an amazing addition to any top or dress. You can purchase a top or dress with a built in collar or just buy the collar to give your older pieces a fresh new look. They can be worn like a necklace which is easy peasy. Bejeweled collars give any outfit an extra level of glam while printed collars create an edgy and fun look.

Handbags are an essential part to every outfit, they can break or make the look so it's important to not ignore your trusty purse. Look for a purse that's simple but bold in color. Pick a shade from the colors of Fall 2012, like oxblood, royal purple, or pale gray. To add an extra dose of awesome-ness, try tying a scarf around the bag's handle.

Chalk Your Hair Not The Pavement

I was reading my Glamour magazine and I came across a hair trend called Hair Chalking. It's a temporary way to add color to your hair by using soft chalk. I've seen inspirational photos all over the interest and I would love to give it a try! I dislike highlights and dying my hair because I hate the permanent-ness of it all but I may have found a solution. The chalks are affordable and be found in any arts and craft store and the process is simple as pie.

How To

• Wet your hair (Blondes: Do NOT wet hair or it'll become harder to wash out; Redheads: try process WITHOUT water first, if the color isn't rich enough, add a little water depending on how dark your hair is)
• Put on a robe or an old t-shirt and lay a sheet on the floor to catch dust particles
  
• Rub soft pastel chalk on your hair while twisting the strands (Brunettes: before you rub the chalk, mist a little water onto your hair, again, to help double the pigment)
• Brush out excess powder after chalking each hair piece
• Use a heating element to lock in the color
• Placing your hair in a up-do is ideal because you'll get less chalk dusk on your clothes

Wash Out

• Brush your hair with a soft brush to get out as much color as possible
• Use a clarifying shampoo to get rid of the left over pigment and the safe natural binder used in chalk, made from tree sap (might take 2 washes to completely erase the color)
• After the shampoo, moisturize your hair with a conditioning treatment

The First All Diamond Ring

Diamonds are a girl's best friend and with this ring, she'll never be lonely. Shawish Jewelry is selling the first all diamond ring for approximately $70 million. It's 150 carats and was cut out of a single diamond rock! It took one year to be made mostly due to getting the copyright for the design and purchasing a special laser to create the perfect circle for the band. The design is so simple yet overwhelming, pure yet complex. Who would buy this? Honestly, even if I had the money to spend I wouldn't. It reminds me of costume jewelry and those candy ring lollipops although I know the ring doesn't really look like either.

Old Hollywood Glamour in Autumn

Now that Autumn is practically here, its ready for one of latest fall trends: Old Hollywood Glamour

On the runways we saw lots of feminine vintage inspired pieces. What the glamorous beauties wore on the silver screen is what you ought to be wearing this fall (forever in my world). When shopping for these vintage accessories, the bolder and more saturated the color, the better! We want to take away some of the seriousness from the pieces' normally dark and neutral tones while still letting its glamour and femininity emanate.
