Floral Peplum + Need White Heels

I got this insanely cute floral peplum dress at Forever 21 a while back and it has been patiently waiting its chance to shine and today was the day. The sun was warm, there was a gentle breeze, and hardly any clouds in the sky; such a beautiful Spring day that I just had to wear this dress. The pattern reminded me of the 1990s and the peplum did a fabulous job of camouflaging my tummy while showing off my curves. BUT there's one thing I forgot when I put on the dress, I had absolutely no shoes that match!! The dress clearly needs white heels so I'm on a hunt for a pair. Until then, these pink sandals did the job, poorly, but I wasn't about to go barefoot in the grass with nasty bugs crawling between my toes, no thanks.

So besides the need for hot white heels, isn't the dress just cute or what?

Now I need your help! In the comment section, tell me which heel works BEST with the dress. It would be of a huge help to get all of your opinions.

Which white heel for my floral peplum dress?

Sam & Libby X Target

I was in Target, for like my third time this week, and I came across this glorious new shoe rack of stunning shoes. I literally stopped in my tracks and ran over to these Sam & Libby beauties and began drooling. Why didn't Target do a larger announcement of this partnership?! I didn't even this is was going on. Now who are Sam and Libby? In an interview with Forbes, we find out,

"Fashion veterans Sam and Libby Edelman have been in the business of footwear since they began working together on Esprit footwear the 1980s. Their first eponymous company Sam & Libby launched in 1987, eventually generating $88 million sales in just four years. The Edelmans sold the brand to Maxwell Shoe Company in 1996 and stepped away from the industry to focus on family. The hiatus was short-lived.

In 2004, Sam Edelman launched another eponymous brand. “I decided I wanted to start a footwear company that filled a void in the contemporary market,” he tells FORBES. The Edelmans report that since then, they have created more than 18 shoe styles that have each sold more than a million pairs and continue to dominate the contemporary footwear market."source

The Target collection, available in stores and online since May 5th, consist of 20 different styles, with a starting price of $22.99. YES, baby! Here is a sample of the featured designs. I'm loving the touches of neon, perfect for Spring and Summer.

Spring Inspiration

Spring has offically hit Virginia and I'm (do do do do do) loving it. I've worn only dresses these past few days and it feels so good to be back in them. What can I say, I'm a dress girl. The fabulous weather and change in wardrobe has inspired me to make a little My Style + Spring collage to express my inspiration.

In keeping with tradition, I thought it was about time I write Fall's edition of Chic, Cute, and Cheap. In this edition everything you see is $50 and under. I chose pieces which incorporate Fall's exciting trends as well as few classic staples. Hope you find something that speaks to you.

Autumn's Fashion Trends

Autumn is just around the corner but don't be frighten! Just because it's a new season, don't think you have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, we wish though! I've done my hard thorough research (poor me) and have collected the best and newest fall trends. I also mentioned a couple of classics like plaid and crushed velvet, who doesn't love a good oldie anyways?

The colors of Fall 2012 are: red, oxblood (aka dark maroon), purple, tangerine tango, pale gray, cream, and white. Pantone also has out their list of seasonal color trends. Have a look!

A couple of trends from the spring and summer have made its way over to Fall with only slight color adjustment. Color blocking and wild prints are still here to stay (yay!). The colors are still fresh and bright but dialed down (notice no neon but more rustic and jeweled tones).

The wild prints will be around for a long time and this fall they've gone all Pleasantville on us and jumped into black and white!  But don't worry, the fun printed pants and leggings also appear in color for those who just can't part.

The LBD went through it's own transformation. Now flared with a full skirt and a nipped waist, it  brings on the joyful '50s feel and shows off the woman's figure.

LBD's other transformation is of color! With the IT color being oxblood it makes sense to switch things up. Now introducing the LRD, do you like?

The old rule of no white after Labor Day is old for a reason, this year wear white proud! White on white was huge on the Autumn 2012 runways so give it a try! However, if sporting pure white after Labor Day gives you the heebie-jeebies, no problem, cream is here to save the day! Think of cream as the autumn-fied version of white.

Soft pale grey is a wonderful color for fall because it pairs up nicely with red, purple, rustic orange, and the infamous plaid designs. It's a soft palate for the touches of rich and bold color.

Collars are the IT accessory this fall. They are an amazing addition to any top or dress. You can purchase a top or dress with a built in collar or just buy the collar to give your older pieces a fresh new look. They can be worn like a necklace which is easy peasy. Bejeweled collars give any outfit an extra level of glam while printed collars create an edgy and fun look.

Handbags are an essential part to every outfit, they can break or make the look so it's important to not ignore your trusty purse. Look for a purse that's simple but bold in color. Pick a shade from the colors of Fall 2012, like oxblood, royal purple, or pale gray. To add an extra dose of awesome-ness, try tying a scarf around the bag's handle.

I can't finish the fall 2012's trends post without mentioning the classics. These three trends have become symbols for autumn: plaid, crushed velvet in dark jeweled tones, and knee high boots. You can't go wrong with a classic.
