Fashion Fights Cancer

The fashion industry has helped many charities and has been very generous with those in need around the world. On December 10, in New York City's KITCHN at The Out Hotel, Fashion Fights Cancer (FFC) will be hosting their annual benefit. The benefit will help raise funds for their fashion and design therapy for cancer patients.

They are known for mission which is, "to nurture the mind, bodies and souls of cancer patients and survivors through fashion and design oriented activities. FFC is a non-profit organization that galvanizes the support of New York City and the international fashion community to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. The organization executes various initiatives including therapeutic programs, health symposiums, e-tail and retail partnerships, special events, and fundraisers to execute our mission. Fashion Fights Cancer engages the Medical and Fashion communities to help combat this disease".

Isn't it such a noble cause? I love the concept of using fashion and design as part of the healing process.I was invited to attend the wonderful l event, however, I won't be able to attend. I do encourage those who are in the area to please attend and let others aware about this non-profit organization and their work.

NYC shopping list completed

I completed my NYC trip shopping list! I bought a warm winter coat, a cute purse, fab knee high black boots, and adorable black flats! I am so ready for NYC and the winter season!

1. Cabela's Verona dry-plus systems parka 2. Target Xhilaration sequin satchel w/ bow 3. Target Merona magaska riding boots 4. Target Mossimo Supple Co. Ona ballet flats

The coat is in my favorite color and it sure does keep me warm! There are hidden pockets inside and out and a removable layer for those unseasonably warm days. And did I mention it was on SALE?! Yep, definitely an important factor. Although it did not meet all of my requirements like being vintage inspired it did meet the rest.

The purse is so cute and girly! I love the feminine bow and pink and silver sequins. It is big enough to carry my everyday things. And again, it was on sale :)

The boots are so comfy and gives me a little height. I love the simple black color and two belts. It also fits perfectly around my calves, which was a constant problem.

I am obsessed with ballet flats, I wear them all the time. Sadly, my older black pair were getting worn down and falling apart but now I got a new cute and SHINY pair.

NYC Trip Shopping List

Johnny surprised me with an awesome Christmas gift, three days and two nights stay in NEW YORK CITY. I'm absolutely in love with NYC and try to visit as often as possible. We are planned to go during the second week of January. Before we leave, there's one thing I must do to prepare, go shopping!  I am in desperate need for a new winter coat, a pair of boots, and a new purse. It would be just awful if I went to the greatest city without a new purse (mine is all ratty and pathetic looking) and a pair of cute warm boots (I currently have none).

The task of finding the three items is actually starting to get me nervous because I'm very picky when it comes to shopping for accessories and I got to find the perfect one for me. In order for the purse, coat, or boots in enter my home it MUST meet the requirements:
  • Vintage inspired
  • Versatile
  • Comfortable
  • Keep me warm
  • Not crazy expensive
So, looks like I got my work cut out for me, huh? What stores and/or brands do you recommend?
