Hairscarf Obsession

My spring/summer hairstyle obsession is this cute as a button hair accessory, the scarf. I'm currently struggling with recreating retro looks on my own; it's probably because I'm not using the right scarf (shopping?!?) but until then, let's look at how the vintage style is done RIGHT, tips on keeping it modern, and watch talented women transform their hair into different looks with just one pretty scarf.

Keeping It Modern: to avoid looking like a Halloween costume wear your regular clothes and avoid the overdone retro scarf patterns and colors like red, black, and polka dots. Try bright tones, floral, skulls, crosses, or whatever grabs your attentions and works with your outfit.

Gift Guide #4: They Were Born In The Wrong Era And Are Secretly Jealous Of Mad Men

Some call them hipsters and roll their eyes but I think they were born in the wrong decade. If you saw them walking down the street you swear you saw a ghost. They wish upon a star for a time machine and are slightly envious of Mad Men. You may know someone who deeply admires the 1920s or the 1960s and when they get a chance, they dress and decorate their home from their favorite period.

I admit, I'm partially this person. I'm actively trying to recreate my home into my mid century dream and am always falling for retro inspired clothing. I love old black and white movies, big band music, and am a swing dancer. But no, if you saw me on the streets, I wouldn't look like a ghost, I haven't gone down the deep end ;) Because I connect so well, I've chosen a few gift ideas (under $100) I think he and she will truly love.

Outfit Obsession

One of my favorite outfit is the vintage classic cropped sweater paired with a full skirt. I love the look, it's cute, timeless, sweet, and so feminine. I found this picture (below) on Pinterest and it's the ultimate cropped sweater full skirt outfit for me. I adore the skirt's tulle-like material and the bits of soft golden sparken woven into the knit sweater.

love this smart look. slouchy knit and full skirt.
