About Time, Girl!

I think I'm the only girl I know who doesn't shop for clothes online, until today. I've always been afraid of buying clothes without trying them on. I have such a tricky body that it's never safe to assume something will fit right just because of the size. One of my favorite stores is Forever 21 and when I lived in CT, there was one about 15 minutes away. It's was heaven/hell because I could spend all my money there! Now that I've moved to Virginia, the closest Forever 21 is hours away!! The last time I went to an actually store I was obsessed with their striped crop tops but none were in my size. I guess I wasn't the only one obsessed with them too. Recently, the ones I wanted came back in stock (online) and in my size! Because I don't know if they'll be in stock the next time I visit a store, I had to buy online.

Now here's the part I dread. What if they don't fit right? I'm way too lazy to deal with the shipping part, it seems like a lot of work, honestly. But only time will tell.

So enough of my babbling, let's see what I ordered!

Can you tell I have a thing for bows and stripes? Nah, right?

June Wish List - 3 Must Have Outfits

Here's my June wish list, broken down into 3 must have outfits I know I'll wear this month. The first outfit include beautiful ocean and seaside colors. The lace dress and its juicy tones is darling for a night out and I love the shades. I wish I didn't have to wear prescription glasses because I would buy those sunglasses in every color imaginable!

The second outfit is what I would wear to the beach or my apartment's pool. I'm obsessed with lemon print and the color yellow so naturally, I created this! I want the bathing suit sooo freaking badly!! I would order a similar one off of online but my body is so tricky and I need to try things on plus I hate the hassle of returning and shipping, too much work for my lazy ass.

The last outfit is for the summer thunderstorms. Do you get excited about summer storms like me? There's just something about the sweet smell of the air and how the rain breaks humidity, makes me swoon, just like this cool ass umbrella. The red umbrella matches my red rain boots and I love the style, it's retro glam. The vintage crop top and cross patterend shorts are my eye candy. I'm not a regular shorts wearer but I'd wear that!

Still Kicking Around

Hello everyone!

It's been almost 2 weeks since my double jaw operation and I'm still kicking around. It's been a very emotionally draining and tiring recovering process but I'm taking it day by day. My birthday was on Sunday and I knew I wouldn't be able to celebrate it in the normal way (food, party, etc.) so I did do a little birthday shopping days before the surgery.

I went shopping at Forever 21 and tried to keep in mind fun spring trends and dresses. Check out the gorgeous trends, what I bought, and other cute items I eyed.

March Wish List

Even though it just snowed in Connecticut, all I have on my mind are full skirts, cropped tops, pastel and neon colors, and sundresses. Once March rolls around, I can't help but focus on Spring and it's feminine happy wardrobe. I'm heading to Forever 21 this weekend for some wardrobe updating and retail therapy. Hopefully, I'll be able to grab a few things off my wish list.

Here is my Spring wish list.

Gift Guide #1: Your Best Friend Who's Always There For You No Matter What

I'm thrilled to begin my month long Gift Guide feature. I'll be sharing specific collages filled with gift ideas and inspiration for the special people in your lives. What's special about this feature is that all the items are $100 and less.

The first guide is dedicated to all of our best girl friends who know us more than we know ourselves. The friend who can make us laugh and not make us feel guilty about downing that pint of Ben & Jerry's. She may have a busy life filled with kids, a man, a job, and a never ending list of errands but she makes time for a phone call or a skype session. Yes, that girl in your life.

 MORE IDEAS

A Long Dinner For Only You Two. No cell phones, no tag-a-long kids or boyfriends. Just two best friends enjoying a leisurely dinner and wonderful company.

An one hour massage gift certificate. A gift like this will show that you care about her well-being and want to help melt away the stress, even if for one hour.

Treat her to a gift card to her favorite manicure and pedicure salon. She might not treat herself often as she should but she'll have you! Go together and make it a girls' thing for the both of you.

I Found Them

I mentioned before how hard it was for me to find a well fitted faux leather skinnies. Well, I finally found them! While on my trip to visit my family, I dropped on by the local Forever 21 (LOVE that store) and found these. The skinnies aren't all leather, only the front side, but the fit, style, and cut is just right. I found a wonderful woven cream and black blouse with faux leather collar and sleeve cuff to complement the skinnies.

I also got this cute oxblood lace dress and two pairs of tights, one in off white with polka dots and the second black with hearts. When I saw the polka dotted tights, I instantly thought of blogger Keiko Lynn and her outfit. Now I'm all set for autumn and can't wait to wear the new pieces!

New Town, Crappy Thrift Shops

Thrift Shop.

One of the great things I like about moving to a new town is the exploration of it. It's fun finding the popular hang out places, restaurants, the cool parks, and my favorite, the best thrift shops. I love going to places like Goodwill, Salvation Army, and Savers because I'm able to find wonderful, unique household items, furniture, and clothing that's been gently used and still looks great. Sadly, I'm having a hell of a time finding the ONE near my place in Virginia. Today, I did spend the afternoon looking at 4 shops and I just wasn't impressed. Most were poorly lit and overcrowded with dusty merchandise and tiny knick knacks.

My hope is that if I look outside town and into the more popular cities, I'll find what I'm looking for. So please, wish me luck on my search for the perfect thrift/consignment shop :)

Spring Pick-Me-Up

I still had money left over on my Christmas Forever 21 gift card and I thought yesterday was perfect for a little shopping. After wandering around and wanting everything, I ended up getting the cutest little neon yellow top, now is 50% off. I felt daring buying the adorable rose floral dress with the waist cutouts; wearing clothes without cutouts is a little out of my comfort zone. After leaving , I had a smile on my face and new clothes to wear for spring (and $7 left on my card).

NYC shopping list completed

I completed my NYC trip shopping list! I bought a warm winter coat, a cute purse, fab knee high black boots, and adorable black flats! I am so ready for NYC and the winter season!

1. Cabela's Verona dry-plus systems parka 2. Target Xhilaration sequin satchel w/ bow 3. Target Merona magaska riding boots 4. Target Mossimo Supple Co. Ona ballet flats

The coat is in my favorite color and it sure does keep me warm! There are hidden pockets inside and out and a removable layer for those unseasonably warm days. And did I mention it was on SALE?! Yep, definitely an important factor. Although it did not meet all of my requirements like being vintage inspired it did meet the rest.

The purse is so cute and girly! I love the feminine bow and pink and silver sequins. It is big enough to carry my everyday things. And again, it was on sale :)

The boots are so comfy and gives me a little height. I love the simple black color and two belts. It also fits perfectly around my calves, which was a constant problem.

I am obsessed with ballet flats, I wear them all the time. Sadly, my older black pair were getting worn down and falling apart but now I got a new cute and SHINY pair.

NYC Trip Shopping List

Johnny surprised me with an awesome Christmas gift, three days and two nights stay in NEW YORK CITY. I'm absolutely in love with NYC and try to visit as often as possible. We are planned to go during the second week of January. Before we leave, there's one thing I must do to prepare, go shopping!  I am in desperate need for a new winter coat, a pair of boots, and a new purse. It would be just awful if I went to the greatest city without a new purse (mine is all ratty and pathetic looking) and a pair of cute warm boots (I currently have none).

The task of finding the three items is actually starting to get me nervous because I'm very picky when it comes to shopping for accessories and I got to find the perfect one for me. In order for the purse, coat, or boots in enter my home it MUST meet the requirements:
  • Vintage inspired
  • Versatile
  • Comfortable
  • Keep me warm
  • Not crazy expensive
So, looks like I got my work cut out for me, huh? What stores and/or brands do you recommend?

Thanksgiving

Hello loves

I hope you were able to see and spend quality fun time with your family and friends and the turkey! I loved seeing my little chubby niece, Audrey, 7 months old, and the rest of the family. The food was just delicious, especially my favorite dishes, stuffing with cranberries, green bean casserole, and fruit of the forest pie

This was the first year I went Black Friday shopping and it was an experience. My mom and aunt went along with me to Target and Kohl's for their midnight opening. We went to Target first but didn't get in line until 11:40. The line was so long but thankfully the security guards had waves of people enter in the store so it didn't get too crazy. I saved almost $80 at Target and $90 at Kohl's.

How was your Thanksgiving? Did you brave though Black Friday?
