Yay or Nay - Mid Finger Rings

I'm a huge fan of rings espically stackables and unique shapes. What I don't like are the trending mid finger rings. It looks like a girl found a ring that was too small but won't give it up, so sad. So what are your thoughts? Are you a fan of the mid finger rings or do you think it's odd?

Trend Alert: Floral Crowns

Flower crowns are seen as dramatic, over the top, meant for fashion magazines and the runway only, not for the average girl or are they? By shrinking down the size of flowers you lose the often times outrageous silly feeling. This season, fashion gurus and magazines are showing us how to accessorize with these darling floral crowns and honestly, I'm all on board! I like the bohemian feel, the crowns are romantic, girly, and oh so pretty.

Here's how you wear the latest S/S 2013 hair accessory right

TIPS ON HOW TO WEAR
  • Keep it simple. If you want a more laid back look, stray away from crowns with large flowers and added details like baby breath.
  • Updos and hair down are both workable!
  • If you want the attention drawn to your hair, your blouse should be pretty calm and basic, try a solid top. Creams, grays, blacks, whites, pinks are beautiful colors to pair with.
  • I think a more natural soft beauty look works well with floral crowns. Try a pink based or berry lip stain, a soft shimmer of the cheeks and clean eyes.

WHERE TO WEAR: these IT hair accessories would be perfect to wear at the beach, concerts, festivals, picnics, weddings, and hell wherever and whenever you want!!

Firmoo Review

A couple months ago I was contacted by the largest online eyeglass store, Firmoo, to write an unbiased opinion post on their fabulous glasses and sunglasses. With my operation recovery, it was impossible to take photos (major swelling) and write a thorough review until now. I was able to chose my own free pair, with my prescription included, and in doing so I can share with my readers about the latest First Pair Free program!! It was hard choosing which pair I wanted because I don't like shopping online. I'm old school. I like trying things on and think shopping should be physical but Firmoo's Virtual Try-On System was a huge help. On the left side on the site, there's an app where you can upload your OWN picture and try on lens that way or choose from a wide range of models and have the models 'try on' the glasses for you.

Majority of the glasses and sunglasses are very classic, chic in style, great for men and women, and the color/pattern choices are wide enough for my taste! Each description of the pairs include measurements of the lens which is very helpful for those afraid picking up a pair that's too big or small for their face. I ended up picking a pair that was too big for my face. If you're unsure, as silly as this is sounds, measure your face and then compare the numbers to the len's.

Now onto the good stuff! Free stuff!! The First Pair Free program allows you to choose your first pair for FREE, only paying for shipping. If you don't like the lens or it doesn't fit right on you, send them right back for a refund/exchange.

I also have a FREE SHIPPING Code for you! For U.S. Shipping on orders $39 or more, use code: FREESHIP
For all other countries with orders $55 or more, use code: FREEEXSHIP

My pair is #SD2266 in Tortoise. They're a little too big for me but it's great to have a backup pair.

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day (in the U.S) is on Sunday May 12th. Those blessed with a mother or a mother figure in their life can make this day extra special and less stressful by planning just a little bit ahead. So, instead of running to Walgreen's for a last minute gift, think about what she would really love or wouldn't get herself (if that special gift is from Walgreen's, hell ya!). In fact, your Mother's Day present doesn't have to a be a thing at all. Spending true quality time together doing an activity could be just the perfect gift for the both of you, especially if carving time away is difficult.

Here's my little list of simple, chic, and sweet gifts for your mom. I hope you'll find some inspiration here.

Mother's Day Gift Guide

1 Help mom protect her forever comforting eyes and keep her looking chic in this simple forever in style straw banded fedora.

2 A gold tone slinky chain necklace is a classic wardrobe staple. It goes with practically everything, every event, and your mom will be wearing it for years to come.

3 Treat your mom to a pair of high quality aviator shades that she might not get herself. Now if she's incline to lose her shades then get a few pairs of lesser quality but still fabulous sunglasses.

4 This is what I meant earlier about a mother's day gift not being a thing. Suggestions? Maybe a trip to a spa, get your nails done together, an afternoon at a local bookstore and cafe, attend a free lecture and then grab a bite and talk, go hiking or try out a new bike trail. If you and your mom are more open minded, may I suggest attending a tarot card or psychic reading, take a cooking (or whatever type) class or series of classes together. Whatever you do, be ENGAGED! Talk to her, not at her, and leave the elevator talk at the door. Get to know the woman behind the mom title, I bet you'll learn a great deal about your mom.

5 This elderflower and lime jar candle smells heavenly and its scent is perfect for spring/summer. I love the cute little jar it is in and it can be reused once the wax is cleaned out.

6 Is your mom's wallet or purse getting tattered and worn out? Surprise her with a new one, in her style, of course, and she'll be a happy woman. I know I put off buying purses and wallets because no.1 I'm lazy but no.2 because it seems like a chore.

7 Yummy! These Charbonnel Et Walker Marc De Champagne Dark Chocolate Truffles are divine! Sure at $24 they might be a bit pricey but isn't your mom worth it? Walk pass the traditional and boring boxes of chocolate and head to these truffles or a more speciality chocolate treat for mom. She'll likely never buy these for herself but if you do, ohhh you'll get major daughter points! If mom isn't a chocolates fan (which is weird but that's okay) maybe a lovely Edible's Arrangement.

Kate Young X Target

Target is rolling out another fabulous designer collaboration and this time it is with hot celeb stylist Kate Young. Young has worked with clients like Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz. In 2012, she was named Hollywood's most powerful stylist by The Hollywood Reporter. Now with her debut line, you can dress like a star without breaking the bank. The limited edition collection, available starting April 14th, features a mix of daytime-cool and upscale occasion classy outfits ($29.99 to $89.99), as well as edgy and elegant shoes, handbags, and accessories ($14.99 to $49.99). It is easy to see her personal style of personal tough-luxe shine through each of her pieces.

What she has to say about her collaboration, "I've been working with Target for a number of years as a stylist, so having the chance to design my own collection with a brand I already know and love is like a dream come true,” said Kate Young. “With this collection, I wanted to design standout pieces that allow women to experiment with fashion and create their own red carpet moments.”.

Spring 2013 Trend - Tie It With A Bow

I'm a huge fan of bows. I think they're cute, feminine, and give off a retro vibe. Whenever I see bow hair clips or bow rings, I silently freak out and do my happy dance (in my head, of course). You can sport a bow is any part of your outfit, hair, nails, hands, and feet. I'm excited to see that the bow design is a hit again this spring and summer. So when picking out S/S wardrobe, let's tie it with a bow.
