Peeking Behind The Blogger Curtain

Vintage Danielle has been up and running since August of 2011, so quite recently. As I look through the older posts and pages, I got the impression that my readers might not really know who I am. I do have an About and My Family page but they only provide a quick peek. If you'll let me, I'd like to step out from behind the blogger curtain, just for a moment (like in Wizard of Oz) to share myself with you. Let's see, what can I say that hasn't already been said....

  • I am 21 going onto 22 on March 24 (Aries baby)
  • I'm more than ready yet terrified to graduate college. My whole life has been centered about school so it'll be strange to move on.
  • I was born with Nager syndrome, which is a rare craniofacial disease that includes underdevelopment of the facial bones/features and lack of the 3 little inner ear bones. I do wear tiny hearing aids and have had about 20 operations, I'll be having a corrective jaw surgery within the next two years (my mouth will be wired shut for 3-4 weeks, ahh!)
  • I'm self-conscious of my eyes, due to the syndrome, but I'm slowly trying to cope with it.
  • My mom is my rock and my main support system. She's always been so supportive and wants me to be happy. How lucky am I?
  • I'm the only child in my family and loved it! More Disney trips, ice cream sundaes, toys, and hugs for me :)
  • I'm more introverted than extroverted. Now you can say that it's due to my syndrome; I was shy as a child and it carried through into my early adults years OR it could be due to the fact that many people annoy me and I rather just be away from that. However, when I'm in a small group, I'm more myself.
  • I grew up watching I Love Lucy which started my love for all things vintage.
  • I always wanted to be a Broadway actress and live in NYC for a year.

I hope you enjoyed getting a clearer and deeper picture of who the girl behind Vintage Danielle is!

Pink Lipstick

Lately, I'm been gravitating towards lipstick than lip balm. With spring being only one month away, it's time to start adding more colors into our life, like pink!

Bright pink lipstick is becoming very popular again and I can see why: it's fun to wear and flattering to all skin tones.

Pink works wonderfully with her tan

Anthropologie Love

I love window shopping! I'm able to gather inspiration, ideas, and see if I can change what I already have to make like new. One of my all time favorite places to window shop is Anthropologie (eventually, when my career lifts off, I'd like to be able to shop there, the prices are high). Every time I visit, I see something fresh, creative, and unique and when I leave, I'm thinking of how can I replicate what I just saw.

I was able to take a few pictures so I could show you what I meant by inspiration. Please excuse the less than best quality, the photographs were taken by my lovely iphone. Have you ever visited Anthropologie? What's your impression of the store and its products?

I love the vibrate colors on the bedspread and telephone

Happy Valentine's Day

Candy Love

By: Terra Mcdonald
Fly away with me my dove
To a forbidden place where the skittles meet the rainbow
Lay under the milky way with me
And lets gaze at the star burst together
Just you and me, sweet bliss
When the moon begins to eclipse we'll be in each others arms
I never knew how much of a sweet tart you could be
There are zero people like you
Your my lifesaver in this unforgiving world
I love all your little snickers
And I feel safe when you wrap your butterfingers around me
I want to share all of your kisses
Now and later, always and forever
You're all the payday I'll ever need
I wouldn't trade you for 100 grand
All because I love my sweet gummy bear

54th Grammys

Did you watch the 54th Grammys last night? I did! There were some crazy fashion choices, e.g. Nicki Minaj and Sasha Gradiva, but overall, many wore beautiful and sometimes too safe pieces. I love watching the red carpet to see the fashion and I saw some interesting and gorgeous outfits. I'm sorry the photos are on the smaller size but if you click on the photo, it expands!

Metal belts (click on the photo to zoom in)
1. Giuliana Rancic in satin LBD paired with a Georges Chakra Couture belt and matching clutch (photo by Steve Grantiz/WireImage) 2. Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney black gown paired with gold metal belt (photo by Christoper Polk/WireImage) 3. Paris Hilton in a beaded white and gold Basil Soda gown paired with metal belt (photo by Lester Cohen/WireImage)
Couples (click on the photo to zoom in)

1. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats. Keys wore Alexandre Vauthier Couture fitted LBD with padded shoulders and a gold choker while Beats wore a purple velvet blazer and matching bow tie (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images) 2. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. Legend wore well fitted dark brown suit with a skinny tie and Teigen worked a high thigh cut black gown (photo by Larry Busacca/Getty Images) 3. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. Lambert wore a nude Atelier Povoni gown and Shelton wore black suit with gray vest and simple black tie (photo by Christoper Polk/WireImage) 4. Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose. Khalifa looked like a hot mess in a white and black tuxedo with a light white tee and pot leaf necklace while Rose looked lovely in canary yellow high thigh cut gown (photo by Lester Cohen/WireImage)

Worst Dressed (click on the photo to zoom in)
1. Bonnie McKee wore a frightening yellow and silver metal outfit that made her look like an anime character (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images) 2. Alison Krauss borrowed her gown's material from her Grandmother's linen closet, right? The white ruffled gown and crocheted shawl is sad (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images) 3. Corinne Bailey Rae wore a Christian Siriano chiffon frock with a curly sideswept coif. Some really liked it, it just reminds me of my duster (photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage) 4. Fergie wore a bright orange see through lace Jean Paul Gaultier Couture gown with black bra and panties. Why? (photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage) 5. Nicki Minaj wore a hooded cape by Versace embellished with the label's Medusa head and was escorted by a "Pope".  At least her makeup looks pretty and simple (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)

Best Dressed (click on the photo to zoom in)
1. Adele nailed it in a sequined black Armani gown, sleek lighter blonde hairstyle, and bold red lipstick. Can she do no wrong? (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images) 2. Carrie Underwood looked like an angel in white sequined Gomez-Garcia long sleeve backless gown and black clutch (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images) 3. Kelly Osbourne rocked the sparkling gold one-shoulder gown by Tony Ward Couture, just wish she change her hair color (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images) 4. Rihanna sizzled in an Armani gown that she helped designed with the inspiration of Michelle Pfeiffer's character in "Scarface". The low neck plunge and high leg slit showed off her star body (photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images) 5. Kathy Griffin wore a ruched Michael Kors gown, accessorized with gold hoops and a gold cuff. The fit and color looks amazing on her (photo by Jeff Vespa/WireImage)

What was your favorite and least favorite red carpet outfit?

Work it out

As part of turning over a new leaf, I've been trying to exercise almost everyday. I use the Zumba Fit Wii game which means I never have to leave the comfort of my apartment to burn off calories. However, I've noticed that my friends are not as lucky. I remember when I use to go the gym, I would spend a lot of time trying to find something to wear that was supportive, comfortable, and cute and then spend more time fixing my hair so it wouldn't stick to my face with all the sweat (not cute). The pieces I found are comfortable, supportive for us busty gals (bouncing is not fun), cute, form fitting in all the right places, and can fit the short and tall gals.

1. Target C9 by Champion racer back cotton bra 2. Old Navy Active sports bra 3. Old Navy Padded sports bra

1 + 2. Lulu Mon Athletica Cool racerback 3. Gapfit half-zip jacket 4. Gapfit Motion seamless top

1. Old Navy Active compression pants 2. Zappos CW-X 3/4 insulator stabilyx tights in rose pink detail 3. Lucy Cut for me leggings (great for the short and tall) 4. Gapfit gFlex colorblock waist pants
Here are some simple and effective hairstyles to wear when burning up a sweat!

1. Braids 2. Cornrow and ponytail 3. Messy bun with hairband 4. High ponytail

Sweet as Sugar

I love Valentine's Day. Not for the roses (I prefer wild flowers), not for the chocolates (I eat chocolate everyday), and not for the romantic cards (how long doI have to keep them until I can throw them out?), but for the clothes! My favorite clothing color combination is: pink, red, blackchampagne (or white), and gold. This Valentine's, I want to be sweet as sugar. Here are some sweet as sugar inspirations, from ModCloth and ASOS Fashion Finder, for you and me.

1. Looking like a vermillion bucks ModCloth 2. Awards show stunner ModCloth 3. Truely yours strawberry ModCloth  4. The heartbeat is on earring set ModCloth
